First Consultation

During the initial consultation, we will perform a clinical examination, a panoramic radiograph, and a 3D scan. Study impressions will also be necessary on occasion. Then we can give you a quote, or even several if different treatment options are possible. You will be billed for a simple consultation.

The price of a dental implant

A complete implant costs from €1,250. This price includes all three elements: the implant, the abutment and the crown.

Some clinics quote each element separately, which makes estimates hard to compare. We prefer to give you the total from the outset, so you know exactly what you will pay.

After the initial examination we give you a detailed estimate for your case. It itemises every procedure and is coded for your insurance.

How many appointments to expect

Implant treatment requires at least four appointments:

  1. The initial consultation. Clinical examination, panoramic X-ray and 3D scan. We make the diagnosis and give you the estimate.
  2. The procedure. Placing the implant.
  3. The prosthesis: making it.
  4. The prosthesis: fitting it.

Depending on your case, additional appointments may be needed. We tell you at the first examination, before you commit to anything.

How long between the implant and the crown

Allow around four months between placing the implant and fitting the final crown. This period is the time the bone and the implant need to integrate, and it can vary either way depending on the case.

If you are considering coming over from France, we explain it in detail in our article Dental treatment in Spain for French patients.

Booking an appointment

We see patients by appointment only, at Carrer Major 132, 17700 La Jonquera, a few minutes from the border.

You can book yours by phone on +34 660 903 355, via WhatsApp or by email at dental.lajonquera@gmail.com.

Quote for remote patients

To send you a quote, we need a recent panoramic radiograph by email. A 3D scan will often be required.

We can do it for free in our office. If you prefer not to travel, we can send you a prescription. The scanner costs about €200 (not covered by social security). We will help you send the files correctly.

If there are several treatment options, we will call you to discuss them. You will receive a coded quote for your mutual insurance company.

Reimbursements

The reimbursement has two parts:

  • Social Security: Dental care in Spain for those insured in France is reimbursed as if it were in France. More info at ameli.fr.
  • Mutual insurance: They will reimburse you when they receive the Social Security reimbursement.

In practice

We will give you everything for the reimbursement:

  • S3125C Form
  • Paid invoice
  • Proof of payment
  • X-rays before and after

Important Note

Santéclair may tell you that they do not accept foreign quotes. That does not mean that your mutual insurance company will not reimburse you. The quote is valid outside of France.
